Resumen : El trabajo de investigación que se presenta a continuación busca en primer instancia analizar la influencia del diagnóstico de la enfermedad, en la dinámica familiar a través del reconocimiento del significado que dé él se hacen la vida familiar del enfermo; para así poder valorar los recursos de la familia, de la comunidad o apoyo social con que cuenta esta; salud; identificar necesidades de intervenciones así como identificar áreas potenciales de prevención de enfermedad crónica degenerativa en las siguientes generaciones y a la par lograr identificar estilos saludables dentro de ella. Emanando también este trabajo del campo de la psicología de la salud la cual está interesada en general, en el sistema de cuidados de la salud: prevención, promoción, tratamiento de rehabilitación de la enfermedad. No obstante, aun en el área de la salud se sigue privilegiado el sentido del tratamiento y rehabilitación de la enfermedad. Por ello es de importancia investigaciones en este tenor, pues nos brindara un panorama más amplio y sistemático fenómeno llamado enfermedad, así como poder visualizar las conductas que hace que nos enfermemos y que por consiguiente se perpetúan en la familia.
