Resumen : El principal motivo para acudir al tratamiento de ortodoncia, es el cambio en la apariencia facial, logrando una mejoría en la estética de su rostro. Se define la estética, en particular la facial, como una parte fundamental de la evaluación del paciente, requiere diferenciarla de la percepción del rostro. La percepción es un proceso mental de la información adquirida por los sentidos. En la estética facial hay tres divisiones que son: macroestética, miniestética y microestética. La macroestética es el enfoque tridimensional del rostro, tomando proporciones faciales, simetría y proporciones divinas.
Descripción : The principal motivation to come to the treatment of orthodontics is the change in the facial appearance, achieving an improvement in the aesthetics of his face. The definition of aesthetics, especially the facial as a fundamental part of the evaluation of the patient, needs of separating it from the perception of the face. The perception is a mental process of the information acquired by the senses. In the facial aesthetics can divide in three: the macroesthetics, miniesthetics and microesthetics. The macroaesthetics are the three-dimensional approach of the face, taking facial proportions, the symmetry and the divine proportions.
