Resumen : La presente investigación da cuenta de la frecuencia de uso de las estrategias de aprendizaje y el desarrollo de las habilidades del idioma inglés como lengua extranjera que utilizan los estudiantes del Área de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades de la Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit. Para determinar lo anterior, se utilizó cuestionario de frecuencia de uso de estrategias de aprendizaje de vocabulario y desarrollo de habilidades. Los resultados obtenidos evidencian la necesidad de potenciar más la frecuencia de uso de estrategias de aprendizaje. De la misma manera se determinó si los estudiantes del Área de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades tienen el nivel adecuado de acuerdo a los estándares establecidos por el examen institucional de inglés EXACRI y el examen institucional TOEFL.
Descripción : This research it´s about the frequency of using the knowledge strategies and the development of abilities of the English as second language in ACSH UAN students, this gives an enhanced programs of the curriculum elaboration, beginning from the way the student´s, appropriates of own knowledge. To determine the following, we made a review that shows the frequency on the use of the oral, reading, writing, listening and grammar abilities, the results obtained shows the need to develop better learning strategies to help students handling a second language. The results obtained also serves, as empiric evidence, to Superior Education Centers to check and redesign the actual programs and teaching techniques, because nowadays we need that student learn and develop these strategies that are not currently part of the curricula.
