Resumen : La Reforma Académica Universitaria de la Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit (UAN) exige a ésta, reorientar su quehacer universitario en sus tres tareas sustantivas: docencia, investigación y extensión de la cultura y los servicios. Ademas también demanda a todos los involucrados cambios significativos de forma y de fondo, sin dejar a un lado la propia sociedad a la que pertenece Como parte de los programas de la función sustantiva de la extensión de la cultura y los servicios, se encuentra el del servicio social universitario, el cual se ha convertido en el instrumento idóneo para cumplir la mencionada pertinencia social. En la actual reforma y en el diseño del programa académico de la Licenciatura en Ciencias de Educación (2003), integra el SSU al curriculum, como una estrategia para alcanzar los objetivos primordiales del SSU y el objetivo social de la UAN: vinculación y pertinencia social.
Descripción : The University Academic Reform of the Autonomous University of Nayarit (UAN) demands that it reorient its university work in its three substantive tasks: teaching, research and extension of culture and services. In addition, it also demands from all those involved significant changes in form and substance, without leaving aside the very society to which it belongs. As part of the programs of the substantive function of the extension of culture and services, is that of the university social service, which has become the ideal instrument to fulfill the aforementioned social relevance. In the current reform and in the design of the academic program of the Bachelor of Science in Education (2003), integrates the SSU to the curriculum, as a strategy to achieve the primary objectives of the SSU and the social objective of the UAN: social relevance and relevance .
