Resumen : El índice de Pont fue hecho en población Francesa, es utilizado para calcular el tamaño transversal de las arcadas dentales, se aplica una fórmula basada en la suma mesiodistal de incisivos maxilares, el resultado es multiplicado por 100 y dividido en la zona interpremolar entre 80 y en la zona intermolar entre 64. Evaluar la efectividad de las medidas del índice de Pont para los valores obtenidos de los modelos de estudio de pacientes que se atienden en la Especialidad de Ortodoncia de la Unidad Académica de Odontología de la Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit.
Descripción : The Pont index was made in French population, it is used to calculate the transverse size of the dental arches, a formula based on the mesiodistal sum of maxillary incisors is applied, the result is multiplied by 100 and divided in the interpremolar zone between 80 and in the intermolar area between 64. To evaluate the effectiveness of Pont index measurements for the values ​​obtained from the study models of patients that are attended in the Specialty of Orthodontics of the Academic Unit of Dentistry of the Autonomous University of Nayarit.
