dc.descriptionThe present investigation was carried out with the purpose of comparing the characteristics in terms of the shape of the dental arches, width and depth of the maxilla between men and women. It is a descriptive, cross-sectional and observational study, with a universe of 799 orthodontic pretreatment study models from the Academic Unit of Dentistry of the Autonomous University of Nayarit from 2010 to 2013, of which 254 models met the criteria of Inclusion, 161 women and 74 men, of the 161 female models were randomly selected 74 cases to match the male gender sample. Descriptive statistics were performed in the SPSS version 18 program using Student t, correlation and ANOVA tests.es_ES
dc.description.abstractLa presente investigación se realizó con el propósito de comparar las características en cuanto a forma de las arcadas dentales, ancho y profundidad del maxilar entre hombres y mujeres. Es un estudio tipo descriptivo, transversal y observacional, con un universo de 799 modelos de estudio pretratamiento de ortodoncia de la Unidad Académica de Odontología de la Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit del año 2010 al año 2013, de los cuales 254 modelos cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión, 161 mujeres y 74 hombres, de los 161 modelos femeninos se seleccionaron de forma aleatoria 74 casos para igualar la muestra de género masculino. La estadística descriptiva se realizó en el programa SPSS versión 18 utilizando las pruebas de t Student, correlación y ANOVA.es_ES
