dc.descriptionDuring the months of January to November 2003, 398 individuals residing in the municipality of Tepic, Nayarit, representing the total population of older adults of that entity, were reviewed. A total of 26 basic geostatistical areas were visited (Agebs), 23 in the urban area and 3 in the rural area. The objective of this research was to determine the prevalence of oral mucosa conditions in older adults in the municipality of Tepic, Nayarit, in 2003; for which a group of ten students of the School of Dentistry of the Autonomous University of Nayarit, were developed the capacity in: clinical exploration technique of the oral cavity, administration and filling of oral health questionnaires and clinical diagnosis of oral mucosal conditions of the older adult. This study was observational, descriptive, transverse and inferential.es_ES
dc.description.abstractDurante los meses de enero a noviembre de 2003, se revisaron a 398 individuos residentes del municipio de Tepic, Nayarit, que representaron al total de la población de adultos mayores de dicha entidad. Se visitaron un total de 26 áreas geoestadísticas básicas (Agebs), 23 del área urbana y 3 de la rural. El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar la prevalencia de condiciones de la mucosa bucal en personas adultas mayores del municipio de Tepic, Nayarit, en el año 2003; para lo cual a un grupo de diez estudiantes de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit, se les desarrolló la capacidad en: técnica de exploración clínica de la cavidad oral, administración y llenado de cuestionarios de salud oral y diagnóstico clínico de las condiciones mucosas bucales del adulto mayor. Este estudio fue de tipo observacional, descriptivo, transversal e inferencial.es_ES
