dc.description.abstractLa prescripción de medicamentos constituye una de las intervenciones en salud que influye en el bienestar de la población debido a que incide en la morbilidad, mortalidad y calidad de vida de los individuos. En la actualidad en ejercicio de la medicina se basa en la evidencia de la efectividad de tratamientos para cada una de las patologías conocidas, el avance científico y tecnológico en cuanto al conocimiento tanto de enfermedades como de los tratamientos de las mismas. Es precisamente por el avance en dicho conocimiento que la prescripción es tan importante, ya que inclina la balanza en un sentido o en otro cuando la prescripción es adecuada o inadecuada. Es deber de los profesionales de la salud involucrados en la prescripción de medicamentos, conocer el beneficio y/o el daño que cada uno de los fármacos que indica puede ocasionar y tomar en cuenta que cada paciente presenta condiciones personales que impiden generalizar el uso de los mismos de estandarizada.es_ES
