Resumen : La presente investigación se inserta en el marco del meta-proyecto "Las regiones sociales en el siglo XXI. Pro-Regiones: saber y recursos en apoyo a la región de la cuenca del Río San Pedro en Nayarit" (2006-2010), esfuerzo coordinado por investigadores de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) y la Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit (UAN), con la intención de vincular el quehacer universitario a la promoción e implementación de estrategias de desarrollo regional que aboguen por el equilibrio sustentable de la cuenca. En este contexto, el trabajo se enfoca en responder la siguiente pregunta: ¿cuales son las potencialidades que ofrece la Educación Ambiental para la construcción de la sustentabilidad en la Cuenca Baja del Río San Pedro-Mezquital, específicamente en el municipio de Santiago Ixcuintla, considerando el contexto ecológico y social, así como la historia que en materia de desarrollo se ha vivido en dicho territorio? A raíz de lo anterior se plantea como principal objetivo generar insumos para la construcción de la Estrategia Regional de Educación Ambiental (EREA) de la Cuenca Baja del Río San Pedro-Mezquital, mediante la recuperación de la microhistoria del desarrollo en la región y el diseño e implementación de un proceso participativo de planificación estratégica.
Descripción : This research is inserted within the framework of the meta-project "Social Regions in the 21st Century Pro-Regions: knowledge and resources in support of the San Pedro River basin region in Nayarit" (2006-2010), effort coordinated by researchers from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Autonomous University of Nayarit (UAN), with the intention of linking university work to the promotion and implementation of regional development strategies that advocate for the sustainable balance of the basin. In this context, the work focuses on answering the following question: what are the potentials offered by Environmental Education for the construction of sustainability in the Lower San Pedro-Mezquital River Basin, specifically in the municipality of Santiago Ixcuintla, considering the ecological and social context, as well as the history that has been lived in that territory in terms of development? As a result of the above, the main objective is to generate inputs for the construction of the Regional Environmental Education Strategy (EREA) of the Lower San Pedro-Mezquital River Basin, by recovering the microhistory of development in the region and design and implementation of a participatory strategic planning process.
